Sterling "AG" Mark

Post by mhmorningstar »

Hello,

I have a compote that is marked "Sterling A.G.". I'm not having any luck finding any makers with those initials and I'm wondering if the A.G. just stands for silver? I've found a couple other examples online that show the same mark but nothing that references the maker. Any info is greatly appreciated!

Just based upon the curved "STERLING" word as found in Rainwater (not the ad samples here), possibly an alternate mark for firm of Arthur R. Geoffroy dropping the "R"????? Just a wild guess for further investigation.
