Hello,
I purchased a thimble collection with some vintage and antique Sterling thimbles. I initially thought this one was a copper or bronze until I looked closer. I've never had English gold, but I'm not sure if this is a gold, gold plated over Sterling or ??? It has a crown with 18 which would make me think 18K but the only other marks are the Lion and an 8 (assuming for size). Not sure why the lion mark would be on gold, or if I've got the complete wrong country.
