Unidentified AWS marking

Post by Mike K »

Hi,

In your post-1886 German silvermark listing, the third unknown ("looking for info") marking imaged, which shows an AWS in a rectangle is possibly the marking for "A. Werner & Soehne, Berlin". Hopefully the image below, of one of their invoice headers, will help - please note the document/image is not mine, so if someone has a problem please PM me and I'll remove it.

Regards
Mike

Hello, the unidentified AWS is not Werner but the mark of August Wellner Söhne, founded in 1854, city of Aue, Germany. The mark was used on silver cutlery and tableware between ca. 1928 and ca. 1938. Best wishes, Bahner
