Unidentified European Silver Mark

Post by honeyglaze »

I have a set of 12 of these large fiddle pattern table/soup spoons, which I think date circa 1800-1840. They came with matching English hallmarked forks and spoons as part of a set. The maker's initials are IEB or IFB. I have been unsuccessful in my own searches so any help greatly appreciated.

I think it looks like Hamburg. Check this page.

Hello, Hamburg, maker is Johann Friedrich Brahmfeld, active 1816-1852. The letter in the town mark is that of the warden and would allow a rough dating. But I cannot see it clearly on my screen. Best wishes, Bahner
