I would like to know if anyone has any information to trace the country of manufacture of this beautiful chalice.





Don't be envious it's not mine, it's in a museum.

Dear Amena!
It's Hungarian, maybe from Erdély (Transylvania)
The name in the engraving it's Hungarian, Arany István.
I asked someone, hope he will recognize the coat of arms.
Does it any marks at the chalice? Maybe at the bottom? It could be helpful.

Unfortunately no marks.
If there had been, they would have put the photo.
It was described generically as Central Eastern Europe, now we know more. I find it fascinating, don't you think so?

This is a beautiful one, I love it!
I really wish, some day to own a similar one!
I think by the way, the lower part is an old conversion.

My friend doesn't found coat of arms under similar name.
But there was an Aranyi Mihály in 1602, and there was no description in the nobility donation.
So, who knows?
But thank you for sharing this one!

On the other hand, if you found any other hungarian pieces in the collections of italian museums, I would really appreciate, if you let me know!
