german fork - fs 12

I believe it is an old German piece, the initials seem to be FS and the mark to the right looks like a badly stamped 12. Any help appreciated.

Hello, looks indeed like German silver around 1860. I believe this rather reads as an oldfashioned "JS" or "IS". There are several makers with marks very similiar to this one, so without a city mark there is little chance of identifying the maker. Best wishes, Bahner
