GALERIE MARZEE

For more than forty years Galerie Marzee has been a driving force in the promotion of contemporary jewellery and metalwork from around the world. Founded in 1979 by Marie-José van den Hout in a small gallery space on the Lange Hezelstraat in the Dutch city of Nijmegen, Galerie Marzee moved to its current home, a former granary on the banks of the river Waal, in 1995. It was then, and remains today, the world’s largest independent gallery for contemporary jewellery.

Galerie Marzee represents both established and emerging jewellery artists from around the world whose work is eloquent and poetic, balancing technical and intellectual rigour with sensitivity and a deeply personal vocabulary of materials and motivation. Alongside its permanent Marzee Collection, which was opened to the public for the gallery’s 25th anniversary in 2004, Marzee presents four exhibitions every year, each showing work by four or five of its artists, as well as the annual Marzee International Graduate Show, held every summer, to showcase the very best work by students from international schools and academies.

Opening hours: Tuesday – Friday: 10am – 6pm - Saturday: 10am – 5pm
