Kirk Repousse

I have 2 of the 9 1/2" egg shaped Kirk Repousse serving spoons.
They are both stamped 508C as shown in the 1914 Kirk catalog.
They are both marked S. Kirk & Son Co. so are from the 1896 - 1924 period.
Yet the handles are slightly different.
I am hoping someone can tell me the story behind the difference?
