Re: sterling silver
Hi,
I believe the mark was in use as from c.1910. The item is marked 'Sterling Silver'.

Hello,
I don't recognize this sterling silver plated, unfortunately. L115" could be a code or serial number specific to the jewelry manufacturer. Many jewelers and jewelry manufacturers use alphanumeric codes to identify collections, models or production series. But L115 is not a traditional stamp used on sterling silver.

:::: The font is consistent with other Watson sterling silver pieces, the "L" numbers are a pattern number for Watson Hollowware and I am sure there is a price list somewhere that has a reference to this "L" number, the catalogues would have a sketch of the item, an "L" number, and a price for the item:::::::
::::: It is very rare for a silver-plated item to have a fake "STERLING" stamp, I've only seen it twice on a couple of Reed & Barton silver-plated forks, someone had made (or found) a "STERLING" stamp and applied it to a couple of silver-plated forks. ::::::: But I do understand your vigilance. ::::::
