Hi all,
I came across this large silver vessel with three different hallmark groups explained below:
1. Inside the vessel: A Russian import mark (84 PT - used between 1882 and 1898 according to the website here)
2. On the rim: Two Polish marks; the head in profile with 2 indicating .875 on its left and W on its right and the owl which were used from the 1920s-1930s until the 60s I believe?
3. On the back: Two unidentified mark; an initial of G.D. and a weird looking mark (that looks somewhat figural) situated in a rectangle frame.
According to the first two groups, the vessel must’ve been imported to Russia in the late 19th century, and was later stamped with a Polish hallmark some 40 or more years later.
I believe the third hallmark group may represent the origin of the vessel’s maker which is probably neither Russian nor Polish.
