Dear Members!
I would like to you to help identify the maker (and assay master) of this silver basket.
Unfortunately the marks (and the punch of the maker) is worn.
It is obvious for me, that the item is from Moscow, fineness 84 zolotnik.
I found 2 possibilities for the assay master but I'm not sure about the reading. it is N.K or И.K.
The first 2 characters of the year it is 18 and the last one is 4.
The mark of the maker is worst if it is possible.
Surely i tried from every side, but I can't read.
These pictures from the handle:
Upside down
The maker's mark next to the pin:
I can't read the marks. from some angle seems to me K, but if I see upside down I see Я
I see now, some of the pictures little bit out of focus, and some of them glinted a little so. if it is necessary I can make more.
Please, try to identify.
Thank you for your help!
Best regards!
Krisztián

Re: Silver basket
Hi!
The assay master is most probably Ivan Konstantinov (ик) so it narrows down the years to 1872-71. Thereby the year would be 1876 if the last number is 6.
The makers mark is quite difficult.

Juke

Re: Silver basket
Here a shot in the dark:
In my eyes the assayer's mark looks like И.К It would be Ivan Konstantinov who assayed in Moscow 1874-1883. The troinik’s year mark doesn’t have notches. That dates it to between (1874)-1881 (actually not later than end of Jan. 82, in Feb. 1882 the fineness mark got its notches). Also the shape of the town mark's shield, a rectangle with cut corners, supports my suggestion.
The maker’s mark has an ordinary dot. What letters could it be? И.К, Н.К or ??? (N.K is out of question. N is not a Cyrillic Letter). That is the big question here! In my eyes it looks like H.K but ??? The maker is a tricky case!

Re: Silver basket
Small typo in my suggested years which were according to PL so the years 1872-1881.
As Qrt.S has investigated the PL corrections so the years would be 1874-1883.
Anyway the year would be 1876 if the last number is 6.
