This snuffbox is described as 18K gold, probably English. Something puzzles me. Is everything okay?
Thanks for attention.

It`s again the controversy of lion passant used for 22 K gold (at the time when the mark was the same for gold and sterling silver) but 18K purity was introduced later in 18th century.
Anyway, I would expect more marks on a British piece.

Exactly. I too would expect more marks in a British gold item. And if it's not British, why is there a lion passant twice?
This makes me suspicious

Re: Everything okay ?
Anybody can use the lion passant - it is only in Britain that it's use is controlled. And in Britain there would only be one of them together with the other normal hallmark components so we can definitely conclude that it comes from elsewhere in the world.

One might think of a Chinese artifact, but the style seems European.
