The "vintage brooch" here refers to the brooches as costume jewelry that were crafted during almost from 1930s to 1980s，which is the most distinctive and typical vintage costume jewelry of the 20th century. It has been through a fundamental change in material, technique, styles and concept.Different from “fine jewelry” that was crafted by precious metals and natural gemstones, costume jewelry was manufactured by non-precious metals such as alloy, sterling silver and brass, as well as synthetic materials and imitation gems such as rhinestone, glass and lucite. Costume jewelry is a kind of fashion jewelry that includes a range of ornamentation to enhance the daily look.

This exhibition with a display of 938 pieces exhibits (143 sets）as well as 51 posters, design drafts and a a patent certificate achieve in a frame of social, cultural and historical context through vintage brooches to reveal the great advancements in vintage costume jewelry of the 20th century.
