Small sterling pill box, possible Sheffield import mark

Post by Silverhound1628 »

I am trying to identify the country of origin for this small pill box. It is marked 925 for sterling, but other than that I cannot discern the other markings. It has the letters "PGLD", ".925" within an oval, a lower case italic "t" within an octagon, and the import mark for Sheffield. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Hi,

That's a London import mark for 1974.

The sponsor was Peter Gilmore Ltd.

Great, thanks. That certainly explains all of the marks on the box. Unfortunately, I guess that means I may never know the box's origin prior to being imported into London. Oh, well. Thanks again!
