FACETS: A LOOK AT CERAMIC JEWELRY
Until 18th June 2023
At the heart of this exhibition, 25 creators, jewellers, ceramists, visual artists, designers from all over the world, question the approach of ceramic jewelery in the crucible of contemporary art through a hundred powerful works.
Some choose fragile and resistant porcelain – sometimes clinically white – others bring back pieces “already there”, plates-shards, still others prefer the precious clay of the origins.
Thus, the ceramic jewel builds its identity in a complex dialogue between different materials, playing with the very definition of the jewel.
It is undoubtedly its supposed or projected fragility that has favored its reappearance… as if to remind us to take care of our relationship to the earth, our history, ourselves and the Other.
