Help Identify Maker

Post by BP1051 »

Hello, can anyone help identify where this lovely tray from and the maker? what I could only see a charançon mark, which leads to a French imported mark in 19 century (I could be wrong).

Hi David,

Indeed French import mark, rectangular weevil mark. The other three marks, I believe to be German Hanau (style) pseudo marks, see https://www.925-1000.com/Fgerman_hanau_marks_01.html

Hi Peter, thanks so much for the link! yes these three marks are quite similar when looked at those Hanau spurious marks in 19th century. THX. David
