Hi all!
Help me please with attribution of this oriental box - what country, what age, who is maker?
Thanks in advance.
Help with attribution of oriental box (No.2)
Re: Help with attribution of oriental box (No.2)
Hello
Looks Persian
The text is upside down but, if you flip it, the lower word looks like اصفهان (Isfahan) with the first and last letters missing.
The type of script also looks Persian although I can't make out particular words

Hello Alex
I am not sure what "star" refers to
The image which you posted with the script is upside down
If you invert it then the top portion (the arc) has script which is Persian but only a couple pf letters are clear and I don't know what it says
The lower portion (not sure how to describe its shape) has, I believe, Isfahan (minus the first and last letters)
Hope this helps and apologies if I have misunderstood your question

Re: Help with attribution of oriental box (No.2)
Thank you Alex
Definitely Isfahan. In one of your images we can find the missing letters of the city name اصفهان . The initial "alef" is the vertical line below the letters and the final "nun" is the "bowl with a dot" above the letters.
One word in the "arc" is much clearer. کارگران translates as "workers". There may be a translation of "made by hand" or similar but my knowledge of Persian is quite rudimentary so I defer to others.
Hope this helps
