French Silverplate marks?

Post by mintymin »

Hi everyone
I recently acquired a lovely vesta case or box shaped like a cello or similar.
I have no idea if these marks are silver or silver plate marks. The only mark that I think I recognise is the swan which possibly could be a French export mark.
The other marks are a complete mystery. One looks like a bunch of grapes and the other a leaf or tree.
As always I am grateful for all your knowledge and help

Thank you Peter this really is an interesting thread. Would love to get to the bottom of where this was from and the amount of knowledge on this site is mind blowing. I am in awe of what people know and I have picked up so much information from here.
I wonder if i should move the thread to another section if that would help?
Thanks again

Hi, our pleasure and you are "promoted" to the German section.
The marks are (German) pseudo marks.

Peter.
