Mexico 950 Silver E-11 JEH?

Post by rmj925 »

Recently purchased this necklace and would like help with dating it and identifying the maker. Would this be pre-1948 since it does not have an eagle hallmark? Also, the 950 indicates it is 95% silver?

Correct on fineness of .950 equivalent minimum of 95% silver in alloy. Mark seems to run off left side and is probably TE-11 for maker/worker (unidentified) “E”(the eleventh registered) in Taxco…see here for dating details: https://www.925-1000.com/mexican_marks.html

BTW..The image is difficult so it might even read TE-31. And since the initials run off too, I wouldn’t be so sure of JEH…might have been meant to be JEE or other?
