I've got this silver parrot. When searching online I find several the same, though stamped with 830 and some marks. Mine is stamped Sterling 925 though. I understand this might have to do with export regulations?

Can somebody give more information about what the details might be around this parrot, which year it might be made, and why it would be stamped different than others which I see?

My apologies. Unfortunately the postimages.org seems not to be allowing uploads right now, so I'll try it like.this:

What confuses me, I see several others online, like e.g. this one: , which is marked "A835", and some have random marks. But from what I understand these markings on Hanau silver can be quite random.
My current interpretation is that this version might be made for export to UK/US, where 925 is required to deem it silver? But I hope someone can explain it better.

:::: This could still be from Germany ::::: I see an example that bears marks from Germany that the seller believes is circa 1920 (it has the "crescent moon and crown" hallmarks and even though using the "crescent moon and crown" hallmarks is still technically in place today, there are still plenty of examples in the 20th century of silver from Germany that did not bear the "crescent moon and crown" hallmarks but still the silver is from Germany, especially seen in post-WWII silver from Germany that was for export :::::::

:::::: Even without finding the other example I still thought "Germany" first and foremost because of the overall quality and a few "desk top" silver items that I have seen over the years that were from Germany (a nice desktop globe comes to mind). ::::::::
