I inherited this old oil lamp from my father. He was originally from Sweden. He was a merchant mariner in the 1960's, so there's no telling how he ended up with it. I have been sleuthing to try and figure out some history on this piece, to no avail. Disclaimer: I don't know anything about antiques or old lamps.
I reached out to The Pewter Society (pewtersociety.org) and got the following response:
"The touch mark is reminiscent of the Coat of Arms of Jönköping which is a city on Lake Vattern, Sweden. The maker TS is not listed for that location in my Swedish reference book for antique pewter or anywhere else in Sweden so it may be that it is too late to be classed as antique or just unrecorded."
This makes sense, as my father (who I inherited the lamp from) was born and raised in Jönköping.
