Hi I have found an old gold ring with the hallmarks SH 9 .375 (anchor) and then some letter
It also has a split where it used to be soldered.
I understand it's been made in Birmingham as there's an anchor present.
The last letter - I'm not sure what the letter is, it looks like a reversed "p"

As far as this ring is concerned, it has a Birmingham hallmark with the date letter q for 1890 and the maker's mark of Samuel Hope, a Birmingham jeweller.
