Help identifying Glasgow makers mark please!

Hi,

I have this arts and crafts brooch, with I believe Glasgow 1873 hallmarks. But I cannot figure out what this makers mark is, it is either too worn or has been re-stamped poorly perhaps? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Your pictures are not clear enough for a positive identification but I see a lion passant which definitely rules out Glasgow - I suspect Shipton & Co as makers and Chester assay but a clear picture will clarify it.
