I recently acquired this odd serving fork, which could be just an elaborate olive fork, but I'm not 100%.
It's marked only 830S, and that plus the style lead me to think it could be Norwegian. As you can see, there are two prongs, between which sits a flat plate. The plate is attatched to a shaft which runs through the handle to the plunger on top, and inside the handle is a (now rather fragile) spring. So, is it a fancy olive fork, or something more exotic? Just what do you serve with it? My mind has been boggling with ideas and I've thought of everything from pickled walnuts to eyeballs! The piece is 17cm long.[/i]
