Anyone know what this is? :0)

Post by SusanWhite »

Hallo!

We've got this item and we're not sure what it is. Kira thinks it has something to do with toast ... I'm thinking 2 sided knife rest...

Is there someone out there who actually recognizes what it is?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Sincerely,
Susan & Kira

By the way ... it's American (Elgin Silversmith Co.)

Hi Susan.
Could you tell us how big it is?
Might be a double knife rest, but I've never seen one like that.
Maybe it's a stand for a glass berry or preserve dish.

Thank You, Miles & Patrick for taking a look at it...

It's 4 1/2" tall ... 2" wide ... 1 1/2" in depth, so whatever it holds couldn't be bigger than about 2" by 1" ... I imagine it would have to be rectangular in shape. The whole thing isn't very sturdy, so whatever it holds also couldn't be very heavy.

Thanks again ... hope we can figure this out!

Sincerely,
Susan (Kira & Sis)
