Identifying Tiny Gold Spoon?

Post by PerfectlySublime22 »

I cant figure out what this neat little spoon is used for. Its only 1.5 inches long. It looks to be gold plated or solid gold. Its set with a white stone (which looks wonderfully like a diamond.) It does have a stamp on it reading 5550 and also a strange sheild type thing with the letter L and the number 4. Any help would be great!

Beats me totally as have never seen one before but suggest it looks middle Eastern. Also suggest you take it to an Antique Fair and find someone who specialises in jewellery..they are pretty sure to have an acid testing kit so you can establish whether gold or not. Best wishes, Mike.
