Know it's French, but can't identify maker's mark!
I have a beautiful old sterling box with hinged lid about 5" oval, 2" high. It is ornate and heavily embossed with Napoleon's emblem (eagle, 2 female figures, big N, crossed reeds or swords, etc). On the bottom is the Minerva's head and one other mark - simply a capital N. Who is this maker, please? (Box has been in family since before 1900 and has been treasured as valuable...could the N mean it was part of Napoleon's own family items?) Thanks for any help.
