Maker Mark for Birmingham Card holder

I have recently aquired a calling card holder with hallmarks for Birmingham sterling, 1878 with the makers mark HB, with the second vertical leg of the H attatched to the vertical leg of the B.
the only HB mark I can find is Hester Bateman, who is both wrong city and wrong era. Anyone with any ideas?
