Hi there
You pieces dates to 1918 I think. I collect English silver, but to be honest I don't know what that mark could mean - there was nothing about 1918 that warranted another Assay Office mark. Maybe marks added in the Silversmith's workship by a journeyman smith (being paid on a per piece basis)?

Hi,
I think it is more likely an import mark for another country or a retailers mark, if you look carefully you can see that the engraving has been done post-assay as it stops just short of the hallmarks except on that last mark where it appears to run into it, so presumably this mark was applied after the item was in its finished state, there is also a tally mark before the makers mark, I cannot think of a reason why there would be two.
Agree with Waylander, Birmingham 1918,
Regards Trev
