I have an approx 1 3/4" antique amber and silver brooch with three marks on the side of the hook that holds the pin closed. I have researched the marks to the best of my ability as a novice to silver marks and need your assistance. This is my first post to the forum so please excuse the lack of a photo. My digital camera is nearly as old as this piece. :) It is a very beautiful brooch and the silver curls around the top of the piece.
The first mark is two capital letters "RC". The second mark is a head with possibly long curls in back. The third mark is a W with a small 5 underneath it, a slightly larger similar head to the second mark, and the number 3. From the research I was able to do, I believe the piece is Polish by the third mark, and it has .800 silver purity. It is 1920's or earlier. Any assistance you can give would be greatly appreciated.
