Spoon c. 1860-1920, possibly German, ID help appreciated

Post by debcasales »

I have searched and cannot find the marks on this spoon. I know the spoon is from between 1860 and 1920 as it was from the generation before my grandmother. They were from Germany, so possibly it is from there. Any help in ID'ing the maker and origin is greatly appreciated. Also, I don't know if it's silver or plated.

Silver spoon - not German - Danish

Post by dc.ole »

Hi, if you go to the world hallmarks page, scroll down to danish makers/hallmarks etc. I think that you will find that it could be AMB 830S,
which is Alfred Martin Becker a Danish maker from Copenhagen,
registered twix 1917 - 1948.
I'm no expert but I think that I may be correct.
