In 1884 a law was enacted making .800 the minimum national standard for silver in Germany. In 1886 the use of individual city marks was abolished and replaced by the national mark (reichsmark) of a crescent moon & crown mark (Halbmond und Krone) representing the entire German state. These marks became compulsory by 1888.
The crown & crescent moon are used in conjunction with a maker's mark and a decimal silver standard mark.
Common silver standards are .800 & .835 __ .830, .900, .925 and .935 purities are also used.

	Lutz & Weiss Pforzheim founded 1882 vintage advertisement
	Adam Manns & Sohn Doernigheim

	Adolf Mayer Frankfurt am Main Jugendstil period, jewelry and holloware.
	Martin Mayer Mainz founded 1888 produced designs by Peter Behrens, Hans Christiansen & Patriz Huber
	Mayer & Fuchs Pforzheim Mark used in the 20s & early 30s, later mark has a modernized font.
	Adolf von Mayrhofer Munich (1864-1929) active 1903-1929 Handwrought holloware & jewelry
	Gustav Memmert (possibly)* Berlin active ca. 1890 - 1930 *There is the possibility that this "M" mark stands for "Millesime" or thousandths, as in 800 thousandths for 800/1000ths purity of silver.
	H. Meyen & Co. Berlin 1846 - ca.1950 vintage advertisement
	Meyle & Mayer Pforzheim Active ca.1900 produced Jugendstil jewelry with fine enamel work
